Zenith is currently utilizing the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) guidelines to maximize medical expertise-and manage medical costs-in our California Claims and Medical Management operations.
By utilizing the ACOEM guidelines, Zenith's service team will be using proven, concise treatment paths and methodologies for the care of workplace injuries; the goals of using these guidelines include:
Kaiser played a major role in developing the ACOEM guidelines. ACOEM guidelines represent a consensus of a broad range of specialists who treat work related injuries and occupational diseases. These guidelines require the healthcare professionals to rely on available scientific evidence when making decisions about all aspects of healthcare, such as diagnosis and treatment. The majority of KOJ doctors have been utilizing ACOEM guidelines, at some level, since the late 1990's.
Zenith is currently educating and partnering with the California medical community to get the best possible outcome for our injured workers and policyholders. For questions, or more information about medical treatment or ACOEM guidelines, please email nurses@thezenith.com.
